Gambling as well as gambling summits were officially legalized in Ukraine on August 11, 2020, when the President signed the long-awaited Law on Ukrainian Gambling. The Law on Gambling, 2285 D, was introduced to President Volodymyr Zelensky after the Ukrainian parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, passed it 248 against 95 in the second reading. The recently passed law paves the way for an open regulated gambling market, legalization of land-based casinos (only five-star hotels in Kiev, as well as four- and five-star hotels outside the capital), online games (including gambling, poker and betting.), Slot machines and lotteries.
